Appointing us as your agent will ensure that your tax liability has been correctly computed in accordance with the law.
If you have to complete a tax return annually, you can, of course, do it yourself and pay the tax due on or before 30 September.
However, you will not have to pay your tax until 31st January of the following year if you appoint us as your agent to deal with HM Revenue & Customs (“HMRC”) on your behalf. Appointing us as your agent will also ensure that your tax liability has been correctly computed in accordance with the law. It will also save you the hassle of trying to communicate with HMRC. As your agent, we have a special telephone number that we use to contact HMRC – without the usual delay suffered by members of the public.
Every April or May we send out an “Information Request” to all existing tax clients setting out their sources of income and other relevant details as returned to HMRC in the previous year. Clients then update that information, send it to us and we do the rest:
- Complete your Self Assessment Return (“SAR”)
- Compute the amount of tax payable or reclaimable
- Tell you when to pay the tax - Chase repayments of tax due to you
- Answer any questions raised by HMRC.
If you supply us with all the information needed as and when requested, then we guarantee that your SAR will not be late and that you will not suffer any penalty for late filing and late payment. Tax needn’t be taxing – if you appoint us as your agent!
